Annual Holidays Act is applied to all work performed as part of an employment relationship or public service relationship. On the basis of the act, the employee has a right to leave. If a collective agreement or civil servants’ collective agreement is applied, other provisions on holiday rights than those in the Annual Holidays Act may apply.
Holiday bonus
The payment of holiday bonus is not statutory but based on collective agreements or civil servants’ collective agreements, local contracts or the employment contract of the employee. You can check the payment of holiday bonus in the applicable collective agreement or with your employer when agreeing on your employment contract.
Other leaves from work
You can also take study leave or job alternation leave. You may also save part of your annual leave and carry it over to be taken after the actual holiday season.
