Flexible working hours allow for fluctuation at both ends of a working day
Flexible working hours refer to an arrangement which allows an employee to decide, within certain limits, when to start and end his/her daily work. Flexible working hours are applied to most senior clerical employees.
How are flexible working hours used?
- The system involves agreement of fixed working hours for the workplace, i.e. the time during which all employees must be present, as well as the flexibility limits for arriving and leaving, no more than three hours in length.
- The maximum accumulation may not exceed 40 hours.
- The flexible working hours system therefore enables minor flexibility at both ends of a working day but does not rule out the accumulation of overtime.
