Working Life Skills -course (2 credits)

This intensive two-day course provides practical tools and strategies for handling common workplace situations faced by both experts and managers.

You will gain valuable insights into questions such as:

  • How can you succeed in salary and employment contract negotiations?
  • How can you stand out in the job market and identify the right career path for you?
  • How can you build confidence and strengthen your professional identity from the very start of your career?
  • How can you effectively address typical workplace challenges as a manager?
  • How can you better understand public discussions about labour markets and working life?
  • And why is it important to understand these topics?

The course is interactive and participatory. Through group discussions and pair exercises, you will develop essential negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills needed in working life.

The course is suitable for any business student who wants to strengthen their career readiness, develop as a professional and future manager, and improve their job-search skills.

The course is taught by Suomen Ekonomit’s working life experts.

Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded 2 credits and an Open Badge digital credential that can be added to their LinkedIn profile. To earn these, participants must attend the course sessions and complete the required assignments.

After completing the course, you will be able to:

  • identify your strengths and areas of expertise
  • create a distinctive professional brand, LinkedIn profile, CV, cover letter, and elevator pitch, all of which you will receive feedback on
  • use a variety of job search channels effectively
  • build meaningful connections and network with the right people

Throughout the course, you will receive feedback on your assignments and have the opportunity to discuss and share experiences, ideas, and tips with other participants in the course’s virtual learning environment.
