What’s included in a free student membership?
Student membership is free and connects you with the business graduate community already during your studies. You’ll get up-to-date information about working life, the opportunity to attend events, and a chance to network with other students and business professionals. In addition, the free membership offers benefits worth over €1,000.
Student membership supports you throughout your studies and when you transition to working life. Student membership with Suomen Ekonomit costs nothing – you only pay the membership fee of your local student organization.

In eLounge, you’ll find your digital student card, which proves your student membership. If you want to use the benefits of your student organization, please make sure you are a registered student.
Student Income and Unemployment Fund
Student Membership and Unemployment Fund
You can join the unemployment fund while studying as soon as you are employed. It is recommended to join the fund as soon as you start your first paid job. The earnings-related allowance paid by KOKO Fund is significantly higher than Kela’s unemployment benefit. In case of unemployment, the KOKO Fund membership fee pays for itself quickly.
Union membership provides support in working life and assistance in situations such as disputes. The union negotiates working conditions and salaries, organizes training, and offers career services even during unemployment. Membership in the unemployment fund is like an insurance that brings financial security for a small annual fee. Together, they offer protection during your studies and throughout your career.
KOKO Fund membership costs €69/year.

Full Membership

The full student membership designed for Master’s students gives you access to personalized services and benefits. Our extensive range of services supports your professional development and transition to working life. If you want a head start in the early stages of your career, get the full student membership. The price is €39.80 per year and offers the same benefits as a graduate membership.
Legal Assistance for Full Members
Legal assistance, early membership builds comprehensive protection
Sometimes in working life, situations arise where an employee and employer end up in such a severe dispute that legal action is necessary. For this, as a member of Suomen Ekonomit, you are entitled to legal assistance.
To receive legal assistance, you must have been a member for at least 6 months before the event that led to the legal case.
In disputes related to an employment relationship, legal assistance covers the work of Ekonomit’s lawyer as well as the opposing party’s legal costs, ranging from €5,000 to €30,000, depending on the length of your membership (see image). Your deductible is 20% of the opposing party’s costs.

Personal Legal Advice
Our lawyers, who specialize in working life for business graduates, are ready to assist you quickly with contract negotiations and workplace issues. Our lawyers are available by phone on weekdays from 9 to 12 without an appointment.
As a full member, you get help with:

As a full member, you can book an appointment with a career coach who will help you with job searching, defining your salary request, and finding your career direction during and after your studies.
Our career coaches at Ekonomit are experienced and trained professionals with a solution-focused coaching approach. Most of them have a degree in business and diverse training in coaching methods (such as NLP, business coaching, workplace mediation). We are happy to support you with both small and big questions – as long as the matter is important to you and you want to discuss it with a professional coach!
