A little less than half of our members work in industries without YTN-negotiated collective agreements. Many of our members work in the following unorganised industries:

  • trade
  • audit and consulting services
  • food industry
  • insurance

In unorganised industries, working conditions are determined by law and possible company policy. In some industries where other personnel groups have their respective collective agreement, the collective agreement of another personnel group may be applied, mutatis mutandis, also to professional and managerial staff. Applying a collective agreement of another personnel group to professionals and managers is often agreed upon in the employee’s individual employment contract.

Employee delegate represents personnel

In industries where a personnel group does not have the right to elect an employee representative, as usually provided by collective agreement, due to lack of such agreement for instance, the group in question has the right to elect an employee delegate.
