The Board is responsible for planning and monitoring the organisation’s activities, managing the union’s finances and investment assets, and making key strategic decisions. The Board is also expected to have an understanding of education policy, advocacy for business graduates, as well as influence-building and the activities of local member associations. The highest decision-making body of Suomen Ekonomit is the Union Conference, which elects the Board. The voting members of the union consist of associations of business graduates and student communities.
At the autumn Union Conference, a new Board will be elected for the term 1 January 2027–31 December 2029.
The application period for the Board opens on 10 August 2026.
The Board will consist of a Chair, two Vice Chairs, and 6–9 other members. At least one member must represent student communities. One of the Chairpersons must represent Swedish-speaking associations of business graduates. All Board members must be members of affiliated associations. The same person may be elected as Chair, Vice Chair, or Board member for a maximum of two consecutive three-year terms.
Some Board members also serve as chairs of the Board’s committees. Applications for committee positions will be opened later in the autumn. When applying for the Board, applicants may also indicate interest in committee membership in the following committees: the Education Policy Working Group and the Working Life Committee.
